My Yoga Journey...
I have been practicing Yoga since 1999. Yoga is a complete body mind experience and offers a wide range of body, mind, spirit integration and connection.
Yoga is so much more than a physical practice. It incorporates (asana) postures, breath (pranayama), and meditation (dhyana), all designed to bring you into the present moment, the here and now.
The practice of Yoga itself is thousands of years old, and has been passed down, over a long period of time, from teacher to teacher to teacher……….
Yoga, a Sanskrit word means to "Yoke" or "Harness". Yoga seeks to harness the energy of the body and mind and use if more beneficially.
Yoga also means "union", referring to the union of the body and mind.
By uniting body, mind, spirit yoga helps to control negative, destructive thought patterns. Increasingly research is revealing that ailments of the body have links to the mind state of the patient.
The positive effects of yoga are: heart and respiration rate slow, blood pressure drops, physical symptoms of stress decrease. It also calms the mind, calms the emotions, and promotes a sense of well being and peace and serenity.
